A high-pitched power-player. As with most high instruments, it is stronger on the low and mid harmonics, without as much of the high tones. Very full, aggressive and growly tone with good back pressure for a G. Horn tone is easy to achieve.

This yidaki was cut by Dhimurru ranger Nalkuma Burarrwanga and finished by well-known yidaki maker Ngongu Ganambarr while staying at his house in Yirrkala. The open bore at the top makes for a deeper, smoother sound than many instruments from this area. Back pressure is medium, and suitable for slow or fast playing. Good mix of high and low harmonics.
