This Yidaki was made by Djalu Gurruwiwi and his son Larry. It was then painted by senior female artist Mulkun Wirrpanda. It is painted with earth pigments (ochres) The Miny'tji (sacred clan design) repeated throughout this painting declares ownership of the Dhudi-Djapu clans' country at Dhuruputjpi. The design refers to a locally endemic waterweed, Dharranggi, which symbolises the billabong at Dhuruputjpi where the ancestral Dhudi-Djapu shark lives.

Fast playing instrument with excellent backpressure. Overall dirty acoustics with coarse edges. Excellent vocal response. Good transition from drone to horn tone. Bright horn tone in contrast to the drone.
