Back in the 60's mak (maybe), 60's mak early 70's, the whole yidaki thing changed from from the old style to the new. Into, you know, more using your "dith-dhu" sound? "Dith-dhu dhirrk - dith-dhu dhirrl." The \^narr-d^l, the hard tongue.

The yidaki was changed, too. The shape of the yidaki changed. In the old days it was just straight like that (pointing to instruments in the Buku-Larr\gay Museum).
