Napuwarri is the third son and fourth child of the great deceased artist Bakulangay. He is married to a woman from a different language group from Numbulwar.

In the last years of his father’s life it was Napuwarri who worked most closely on art with him. They completed a number of collaborative works together. He follows many of his father’s stylistic features and was endorsed as a legitimate artist of his clan’s sacred designs by his father before his death. He was part of our recent landmark exhibition "Yäkumirri" which was sold as a collection. As such his work is now greatly in demand. He has painted just a couple yidaki for us in the past, and we may not be able to get any more because of his increased status and recent move from Yirrkala to his own clan's homeland of Yilpara, but please let us know if you are interested in his work.
