Mirrwatnga Munyarryun is a talented young yidaki maker and player who lives at Dhalinybuy in Northeast Arnhem Land. Mirrwatnga has grown up under the strong leadership of his father Bawurr Munyarryun and has followed direction from his elder brother Djakapurra, who is well known for his dancing and yidaki playing. Commonly called 'bambu man' amongst his peers, Mirrwatnga is known as the ceremonial yidaki player for the Wangurri clan. He is frequently asked to play at ceremony locally in the Yirrkala area, and also often travels to Galiwin'ku and Milingimbi to participate in ceremony.

Mirrwatnga is pictured above performing at the Yidaki Festa in Tokyo, June 2003. He is a strong dancer who has also travelled to perform in South Africa and the USA. In September 2004, Mirrwatnga travelled to Iceland and the UK where he delivered yidaki workshops and performed.
