Gaypalwani, also known as Terrence, lives at his mother's land at Matamata, four hours by road from Yirrkala. His father is John Mandjuwi Gurruwiwi, a well known deceased artist, and mother is Batumbil Burarrwanga, an up and coming artist who has just begun painting again her mother's clan's designs she assisted her husband with.
Gaypalwani is a great yidaki player who rarely brings us instruments, but his work is definitely worth getting when it is available. |
