Boliny’s father was the late Marrakulu leader and artist Mithili. She spent her chilhood at the Marrakulu homeland Barraratjpi, on the inside of Cape Shield on Blue Mud Bay. The new homeland of Gurka’wuy was established in the early 1970's by her father and other artist elite Dundiwuy, and they lived there together.

Boliny is the widow of Birrikitji - Dhalwangu clan leader up to the early eighties. She is a prolific artist working with natural ochre’s on bark, lino-cut images and wood carvings. 2006 saw her first exhibition, a joint show with her sister Ralwurrandji, in Darwin. Sometimes she is willing to paint yidaki for us, so please let us know if you are interested in his work.
