Father was the famous artist Mithinarri Gurruwiwi. Djul’djul, her brother Watjuku and their sister Manany have inherited much painting knowledge and skill. All three artists also share the same Gumatj mother, Duwambu Burarrwa\a. Djul’djul’s husband is Burr\upurr\u (Bruce) Wunu\murra, a well-respected yi[aki player and maker, whose instruments she often paints with Gälpu clan designs. Djul’djul has spent most of her life at Gurrumuru and Gunya\ara’, and is a very precise and knowledgeable wood carver and painter. Djul’djul is pictured above with her son Djirriwarr.
