Victory in High Court of Australia	Barrupu at Buku during Garma	Nhama Ga Ngama

The High Court decision in the Blue Mud Bay case, means the traditional owners of the region have exclusive rights regarding commercial and recreational fishing in tidal waters overlying Aboriginal land. Our "Saltwater - Yirrkala Bark Paintings of Sea Country" exhibition, was a major vehicle for communicating to the High Court Indigenous law and culture of the sea and was seen as an important determinant of the High Court's Blue Mud Bay Decision.	Big Gurtha heads up at Buku during Garma ‘09. Those visiting Yirrkala will have an opportunity to see Barrupu's works in their entirety. Great swathes of Ancestral Fire – the Gurtha sweeping the landscapes of the Gumatj homeland at Biranrbirany, the same ribbons of fire that her father drew in crayon for Professor Berndt at Yirrkala, the year before her being born. Fire that etched the landscape with lore and title belonging to her Gumatj clan.	The Mulka Project presents our newest collection of short films - Nhama ga Ngama (Look and Listen). All 12 films were produced in-house on Northeast Arnhem land. The stories were made by Yolngu for Yolngu. This years selection includes animation, documentary, horror, dance, ceremony, football, cross-dressing and Kevin Rudd. You can buy it from our online store or watch preview.
